After serving our country, many of this nation’s Veterans experience challenges integrating back into civilian life. Challenges are varied. They may be matching skills to appropriate job requirements, handling financial matters, dealing with medical conditions, counseling, housing, etc. A myriad of service organizations exist to support the needs of our Veterans and their families. However, finding the right resources can be a challenge by itself.
Project Got Your Back seeks to serve as the backbone organization in Minnesota to grow and sustain collective impact to support all MN military, Veterans, their families and caregivers. PGYB works across the state to identify public and private resources and then strategically connect individuals, communities and regions where it can. The resulting outcome is improved awareness and engagement, unifying efforts to honor and support military and veterans in MN.
The newest project, sponsored in part by MidCountry Bank is the creation of a website called the MN Military & Veteran Exchange. www.MNme.us This website adds another tool to support the entire project for the military and veteran community.
Project Got Your Back was founded by Mark Ellson, a former Colonel in the US Army Reserve, who retired in 2015 after 39 years of service. Mark is also founder of JEMNI, Inc. a service-disabled and Veteran owned business.
MidCountry Bank awarded $5,000 to Project Got Your Back to provide support for the newly established military and Veteran exchange website. www.MNme.us
