MidCountry Bank continues its support for the YMCA of the North with a $100,000 grant to help the YMCA advance their veteran and active military families programs. This marks the fifth consecutive year of MidCountry Bank’s support of this program. With over 328,000 veterans in Minnesota, supporting them and their family members through meaningful programs and services is needed more than ever. MidCountry Bank’s grant will help fund core elements of the program, including:
- Family camp getaways
- Veteran kids to day camp
- YMCA membership discounts
- Family Sports Days at the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota United
- Military deployment and redeployment support
- Well-being webinars
This grant also aims to expand services and resources for Minnesota active military, veterans and their families. As an official Yellow Ribbon site, the YMCA of the North may help pay school tuition and fees that the Post-9/11 GI Bill doesn’t cover. The YMCA of the North is squarely in contact with area active military and veterans and their families, in their own communities at YMCA branches, for better and easier access to the benefits and support offered by this program. This kind of access is especially important in Minnesota where our active military and veterans have no military bases.
“MidCountry Bank has a long history of commitment and contribution to our local communities. Our nation’s Active Military, Veterans, and their families hold a special place in our hearts for their dedication and the sacrifices they have made for our country. We are honored and proud to extend our support and to thank them for their service,” said Steve Meads, President and CEO of MidCountry Bank.
