Bloomington, MN - The MidCountry Bank team is known to step up to help when there is a need. Many students at a charter school near our bank headquarters in Bloomington, MN are in need of essential supplies. Many of the students there are non-traditional students from various socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. The downturn in the economy over the past few years has caused students and their families to struggle to find sustainable housing. Many of them are homeless and in need of essential supplies.
From September 28 – November 18, team members donated 220 non-perishable, nutritious food items to help feed the potential and fuel the future of the charter school’s students, plus $20 in cash donations. The focus was on ready-to-go breakfast and lunch items to provide necessary nutrition so the students can concentrate on learning, not on a growling tummy.
The bank also MATCHED each item donated with $1, or $220, providing additional support to the newly established food shelf for students and their families. Wow! What a difference maker for these students!
